This is the moment a roadside rusty water pipe burst and sprayed dirty sewer water into a grocery store causing serious damage.
The burst pipe by the roadside caused severe damage to a local shop in the city of Nanping in Fujian, China, on Tuesday, January 2.
Footage from CCTV camera shows the owner standing at the entrance before the water pipe suddenly burst and sprayed water inside the store.
The man quickly pulled down the shutter but it was too late as the floor was already covered in water.
Preliminary investigations from the local government found that the incident was caused by a crack forming in the water pipe, which was weakened from the rust. The pressure of the water then caused it to smash and the liquid surged through.
The shop owner said the property suffered damages of around CNY 70,000 (GBP 7,745).
