This is the shocking moment scooter riders run as they turn into a street and find a huge lion in India.
Footage shows the driver manoeuvring his bike when they suddenly stopped; the pillion passenger hurriedly stepped off and ran. The panicked driver, realising the situation upon seeing the beast in their path, abandoned his bike and fled for safety.
Reports said the incident happened in Navabandar village, located in the Una region of Gir Somnath district, Gujarat, on October 6.
The local forest department was alerted to the lion's presence and officers were sent to the area to check but the big cat had already retreated into the wildnerness.
Encounters with lions, leopards, and tigers have increased in recent years in India due to rapid urban development encroaching on predators' habitats.
