This is the dramatic moment a station guard saved a woman who fell under a train while disembarking.
CCTV footage shows the female traveller stepping out of the moving locomotive at Borivali railway station in Mumbai, India, on March 6.
She can be seen stumbling into the gap between the train and the platform. Upon seeing her attempting to exit, the quick-thinking officer immediately dashed toward her and dragged her away from the moving train.
The woman reportedly did not sustain any injuries in the incident.
India's frequent train accidents are largely attributed to ageing infrastructure, including outdated tracks and signalling systems.
The railway network's overcrowding—often operating beyond its designed capacity—puts additional strain on equipment and safety measures. Human error, such as misreading signals or fatigue-related mistakes, also plays a significant role in many of these accidents.
