Mary Grace Cagadas and her family spotted the leaves swaying rapidly on a staircase at the District Mall in Cavite, the Philippines.
Footage shows her husband carrying their daughter as they approach the plant on October 23.
They briefly observed it before walking down the stairs.
Locals speculated that it might be a 'fae trap', a concept from European mythology referring to a magical, deceptive setup created by fairies to lure humans into their realm.
Others, however, believed the plant's rapid movement was caused by air blowing from a nearby air-conditioning unit.
