An Indian family who were worshipping the forest goddess were injured when a tree fell on them.
The six relatives unfurled a blanket and prepared food offerings for 'Van Devi' while they prayed and chanted to the mythical Hindu creation.
But they appeared to have disturbed the spirits and a large tree toppled over. The devotees were recording their session and the video captured the huge trunk crashing onto them.
Miraculously, the gods may have smiled upon the family and they all survived. Officials said the six who were injured were taken to hospital for treatment in the Maharajganj town in the state of Uttar Pradesh on August 2.
Officers at the Nichraul district police station confirmed six people were injured after being hit by the falling tree.
A spokesman said: 'Initially, all the injured were taken by private vehicles to the nearest community health center in Nichraul. After receiving primary treatment there, they were referred to the district hospital.'
All are reported to be in stable condition.
Local media reported that the family from Mishrauliya village was performing worship when the adry jamun tree fell.
The fallen tree injured Indu, 35, from Mishrauliya village, Rita Gaur, 40, from Ahirauli village assembly, Rambha, 40, from Pipraich, Radhika, 30, from Mishrauliya, Khushi, 15, and Virendra Gaur, 30, from Mishrauliya police station, Nichlaul.
Doctors said the Indu, Radhika, and Khushi were the most seriously injured. They were sent to the district hospital for further treatment.
As of the most recent estimates, around 79.8 per cent of India's population identifies as Hindu.
